Punta Cana Tower Control
Area of Responsibility
Punta Cana Tower (MDPC_TWR) controls movement of aircraft on the manoeuvring area north of Runway 09/27. Aircraft departing Runway 08/26 will be taxiied short of the southern runway and transferred to Tower where further instructions should be issued. Punta Cana Tower is also responsible for the Punta Cana Class D Control Zone, a circle with a 2.5 NM radius centred at the PCA VOR, extending from surface to 2000ft AGL.
Taxiway Restrictions
Taxiway H between Runways 09/27 and 08/26 is restricted to aircraft categorised as 'Light' only.
Wake Turbulence Seperation
Holding points E and J for Runway 08, and A and P for Runway 26 are considered the same point for the purposes of departure wake turbulence seperation.
Departure Spacing
Successive departures following the same SID should be spaced apart by a minimum of 90 seconds. Punta Cana Tower should aim to segregate departures via Runway 08/26 based on their assigned SID to maximise departure efficiency.
Independent Departures
Due to the close proximity of the runways and the scale of Project Flight, departures are not to be considered independent and simultaneous departures during dual runway operations are prohibited. Tower should instead observe the preceding departure and hold the other departure until there is some form of seperation assurance once both aircraft become airborne.
