Approach Types

Punta Cana utilises the following instrument approaches: RNAV, VOR, and GLS. Where an aircraft is unable to accept an instrument approach, a visual approach should be issued.

Parallel Approaches

Due to close proximity and the scale of Project Flight, parallel runway seperation is not applicable and aircraft should be seperated by a minimum of 3 NM diagonally during dual runway operations.

Local Flights

Flights from Punta Cana to Cibao (MDST), Cabo Rojo (MDCR), and Antoine-Simon (MTCA) require coordination to the relevant enroute station prior to being transferred to the next sector.

Arroyo Barril

Arrivals

Punta Cana Clearance Delivery should coordinate departures from Punta Cana for Arroyo Barril and Approach should issue departure instructions for the aircraft considering the current traffic situation.

Departures

Due to its close proximity to Punta Cana and its location within the TMA, aircraft wishing to depart Arroyo Barril are required to contact Punta Cana Approach for clearance and start approval. Start approval should only be issued when the current traffic situation allows.
